PRESS RELEASE – On April 21, 2026, the Jackson County Sheriff’s Office (JCSO) Criminal Suppression Unit (CSU) conducted a
traffic stop on US-74 in the Sylva area. During the course of the traffic stop, deputies established probable cause
to search the vehicle.
As a result of the search, deputies located and seized approximately 13.2 grams of suspected fentanyl, 20.4
grams of suspected methamphetamine, and $379.00 in U.S. currency.
The following individuals were arrested and charged:

Sheriff Doug Farmer stated, “This case represents the third trafficking arrest in the past week, highlighting the

are making a significant impact in disrupting the flow of illegal narcotics in our community.”
